Offshore QA Team

Scale your QA team without the 3-month hiring cycle

We staff dedicated offshore QA engineers out of Bengaluru — manual, automation, or a mixed pod — who join your existing sprint, standups, and issue tracker from week one. Most US and Canadian clients land at 60-70% less than a comparable big-IT-vendor quote, with hours that overlap yours.

Why ThoughtCoders
  • US, Canada & UK overlapWorking hours planned around your team, not just ours.
  • One point of contactA named lead owns the engagement end to end — no ticket queue.
  • NDA on every engagementSigned before we see a single ticket or line of test data.
  • Scale up or down monthlyNo multi-year lock-in — resize the team as the release calendar changes.

Who this is for

Engineering teams that need QA capacity now but don’t want to run a multi-month hiring process, or whose QA headcount can’t keep pace with release cadence.
Especially useful if you’re comparing outsourcing options against a large IT vendor and want the same dedicated-engineer model without the markup.

What you get

  • One or more dedicated QA engineers matched to your stack — not a shared bench rotated across other clients
  • Engineers who join your existing sprint, standups, and issue tracker from week one, not a separate offshore workflow
  • Weekly test execution and defect reports, plus a status summary your PM can forward as-is
  • Overlap hours aligned to your timezone for daily standups and handoffs
  • Ability to scale from a single seat up to a larger team without renegotiating the contract
  • A named backup engineer on file so a departure doesn’t stall your sprint
  • Access to our existing QA processes and automation tooling at no extra setup cost

Timeline & process

Week 1

Scoping call

Agree on tech stack, seat count, engagement model (dedicated, project-based, or augmentation), and timezone overlap.

Week 2

Candidate shortlist & interviews

You interview 2–3 shortlisted engineers per seat — we handle sourcing and technical screening.

Week 3

Onboarding

Selected engineers get access provisioned, join your tooling and repos, and shadow your existing team.

Week 4

Full sprint participation

Engineers run solo in your sprint cadence, with the first weekly status report delivered.

What we need from you

  • Access to your codebase or staging environment, ticketing system, and communication tools
  • A point of contact on your team for the interview and onboarding stages
  • Clarity on the engagement model (dedicated team, project-based, or augmentation) and target seat count
  • Agreed overlap hours with your timezone

Proof, not promises

Not in scope, so there are no surprises

  • A fully autonomous QA function with no client-side oversight — you own product and acceptance decisions, we own execution
  • Same-day scaling to a significantly larger seat count — meaningful ramp-up typically needs 1–2 weeks’ notice
  • Test strategy or QA leadership for teams that have none in place — pair this with a dedicated QA lead if you need that
  • Offshore engineers replacing your product or business analysts — they execute and report against requirements you provide
  • Long-term contract lock-in — engagements run month-to-month after an initial minimum term, confirmed at kickoff

Questions we get asked

We're in the US (or Canada) — how does the time difference actually work day to day?

Engineers shift their schedule so a block of their day lands inside yours — most clients settle on late-morning-to-evening India time, which covers US Eastern mornings and all of Pacific business hours, plus the full Canadian range in between. Standups and handoffs happen live during that window; nothing important waits for a "good morning" email.

Is this cheaper because the quality is lower?

No — it's cheaper because you're not paying for a big-vendor sales layer, bench time, or a multi-country account management structure. You're paying for the engineer's time and ours, directly.

What happens if our assigned engineer leaves or gets sick?

Every seat has a named backup engineer already familiar with your codebase and tooling on file before that ever becomes a problem, so a departure or a sick day doesn't stall your sprint.

Can we start with one engineer and grow later?

Yes — most engagements start with a single seat to prove the fit, then scale up. Meaningful ramp-up (adding several seats at once) typically needs 1-2 weeks' notice so we can shortlist and onboard properly instead of rushing it.

Are we locked into a long contract?

No. Engagements run month-to-month after an initial minimum term, which we confirm with you at kickoff — not buried in fine print afterward.
